Velvet Merkin is a decadent stout lovingly aged in bourbon barrels. Traditionally, this was an oatmeal stout, however in 2019 Firestone Walker transformed the beer to a milk stout by removing the oatmeal and adding lactose sugar to offer a creamier mouthfeel. Beautiful chocolate, espresso, and vanilla-bourbon aromas hold your most hostage. Rich dark chocolate truffle, bourbon and espresso create a dangerously smooth and incredibly drinkable barrel aged beer.

These are ready to drink when released, but time adds another dimension. Savor these beers now, or cellar them in a cool, dark place between 45-55 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow it to warm up in the glass for maximum enjoyment.
